Did a search and could not find any thread about this.

Is the DE gonna use the old 97' mastering? Or mayby remastered again?

It's already available on legal streaming-services. Didn't yet listen to it but gonna check it out later.

It's the new 2014 mastering that was used for the vinyl reissues coupled with a second disc of demos and live tracks.

Info here via The Second Disc: http://theseconddisc.com/2014/10/13/kiss-fire-love-gun-once-more/

Who did the mastering? Can we expect some dynamics?
Would be really cool if it's actually better than 97' remaster.

    So it's Kevin Reeves.
Saw the video. He usally transfers Straight from tapes to dac, minimal eq. mayby dynamics intact then.
would definitly pick this one up!!

The article says there's only one previously released demo ("Reputation"), but I'm wondering if "Love Gun (Demo)" is the same as the track on the box set.

Will all the back and forth and all the KISS threads I've lost track...but I believe someone said it's a different demo take of Love Gun than on the Box Set.

Hmm, I can't find it on Spotify - what service are you using?

I use few different services and of those ones that I had search, it seems to available in every one of those.
For example, I just checked Spotify and it's also available there, so most likely it has region restrictions.
Maybe it ain't yet available there on that side of the Atlantic.

    Edit: my 4000th post here.

Mildly interested. I'll keep this one on the radar.

I'm a fan of Paul Stanley the musician, but I still can't help but laugh at the concept of a 'teaching demo' for the song Love Gun!

I know Paul loves that song, but I find it to be one of his least interesting ones. I Stole Your Love is a way better song, and more structurally interesting.

Jesus, I'm discussing which Starchild song is more "structurally interesting". I'm going to go listen to Bang Bang You!!!!

Take away the three live tracks that no one is too excited about and the interview segment and you're left with seven demo tracks that could have fit nicely after the original album on a 1 CD reissue.

I'm curious to find out exactly what that one is. I've read that it might be a 'studio chatter' recording of him initially showing the other bandmember's the song and how it goes, but that may've just been fan speculation.

If it's truly a guitar lesson of sorts to fans, audio only seems an odd choice.

I am mostly excited about the mastering, Org-marino mastering has problems.. so does the 97' remaster.

Did Paul and Gene have Tommy Thayer replace the solo?

I went to Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart today and not one of them had it in stock. I'm not just going to buy it off of Amazon because it's a digipak and the copy I'll most likely end up with will look like a coyote ate it and pooped off a cliff. Looks like I'll be going down to Vintage Vinyl sometime this week to see if they have any copies that look good.

According to Gene in a recent interview, the solo was always by Tommy Thayer.
