Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

Bit crazy, but we've already bought our tickets for next year's Tramlines Festival (in July '15). They were put on sale with the hook that if you buy them now, you get them at this year's price. Good deal and common sense. More festivals should do this.

    1. Get a date who wants to also go. (I can take my wife to concerts but once a week would be stretching it)
    2. Get a mother-in-law who is willing and able (have never hired a baby sitter)

The real secret is to not live in a concert backwater where interesting shows are few and far between.

Yes.......no kids or other huge obligations. Going and traveling to many concerts started as a Grateful Dead habit. This is the 1st time I went over 100 in a year.....after 86 last year. Normally I'm around 40-60 with vacation concert trips to other cities. I plan to scale back maybe below that next year.

One "problem" was buying a City Winery membership................have too clean a shot at front row to anything new announced.

I really wanted to see Beck when he played Austin for one of the festivals, but the ticket price was too high for me.....

Ok, I told a (unintentioned) fib! I *just* this second purchased tickets for my first gig in my new hometown of Asheville, NC:

There's that. Nashville is finally a city that actually gets tour dates for big shows now and then, but we still have a long way to go. Some shows are easy to get friends to go to, others you just get used to going alone and enjoying the music. There's also the reserved seats factor, which is a royal pain in my ass. Every show should just be gen. admission and be done with it.

You're moving to Asheville? You're going to love it there. It's part of my backyard. Between there and Charlotte, there are shows all the time.

    And mountains!

Bob Segar. I was not going to go. It is 2 hour away and I just saw him 1-1/2 year ago. But then I found out J Geils was opening.

Oh, man. I'm getting "old" with too many responsibilities. Richie Kotzen at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA on 11/22. Only 2nd concert this year (saw Jack White earlier).
