You're welcome! (for ten bucks, I was tempted to get a second copy!)

Before you sell your mini-LP, compare the two. I still don't know what sort of "cutting edge" processing the official remaster used (both the mini-LP and the regular package version), but I don't think I've EVER heard overload distortion quite like it (check out the sax intro on "Turn The Page"). One of the all-time worst remasters.

The black triangle is a bit dull, but it's smooth and natural, and responds very well to a smidgen of treble boost (to your own taste). The original Capitol CD is OK, though it's nowhere near as transparent (has some unflattering EQ).

I'll compare the two, certainly, but after that it's right back to Rockit Scientist with the mini-LP. Rubbish.
I don't mind dull - hell, I'm kind of dull. I respond well to judicious EQing...

 Disc came today and sounds fabulous - drums and vox are natural and smooth, even analog-y. Thanks again, Dob!

    Hey Mikey!
The mini-lp is THAT bad huh? I bought it maybe 3 years ago for something like 7 bux. I bought it for 2 reasons- first the coolness factor of having it in the original LP-type package, and second- was because even after all these years the only live Seger package I had was Nine Tonight. I'd always heard Live Bulllit was a killer- but just never took the plunge.

It sits on a shelf with the rest of my mini-lps, and really doesn't see any play time.

We all have CDs like that. However, I have found that, in some cases, I never listen to them because they just don't "involve" me, and that's because they don't sound good...doesn't matter that the music is top notch.

The first four Beatles albums on CD is a perfect example of what I mean. Never seemed to be "in the mood" to give 'em a spin...but since I received a set of good sounding stereo needledrops, I listen to 'em regularly now.

Well, suffice to say I bought it for about the same price, about the same time ago (get it at Music For A Song, by chance?), and relished getting rid of it. Live Bullet may not be my favorite album of Seger's, nor my favorite live album, but it sure is nice to have it sounding this good (and for $10, an audiophile no-brainer).

Wait for me to die. I have all the Seger Black Triangles, and my son will be more than fair.
Just be on the lookout for forum member Chrys' thread about my demise.
Might be a while, but I'm completely serious.

Here's hoping you aren't planning on going anywhere soon.

Either way, I'll listen to my DCC rip of "Main Street" and raise a glass to ya.
