How many albums are there where each track is better than the one before it? A tough task!

    My votes?

Van Der Graaf Generator - "Pawn Hearts"

    Miles Davis - "Agharta"

I dunno but I can think of a few albums where I didn't like the first couple of tracks but the remainder was good: Celebrity Skin by Hole and Wishlist and Psychohum by the Falling Joys.

The first album that occurred to me was REM's Out of Time, which starts off appallingly with Radio Song and ends with a superb trilogy of songs.
However, the presence of Shiny Happy People along the way will likely skew the matter for most.

    I suggest Genesis: Foxtrot

Michael Chapman 'Fully Qualified Survivor' follows this trajectory - although the opener 'Aviator' is superb. The record really kicks off from track five onwards.

I'm not a huge fan of REM and Out Of Time is a great album IMO but if there must be chart music then Shiny Happy People shines out like a beacon in that context.:)

You think "When I'm 64" is better than anything on side one? I think the quality dips a bit on the second side before the reprise and "A Day in the Life".

I doubt he does, but someone had to get in the obligatory "Beatles comment" somehow....

The one two punch of Sgt. Pepper and A Little Help from my Friends is my favorite part of the album.
