Hoping this gets a blu-ray release at some point. We've watched it twice through now and it only got better.

If you like it on Netflix you'd love the DVDs. So many extras.

I will seriously consider it. I'm guessing there is no way we will see this one on Blu-Ray?

It's owned by Dreamworks, but I'm not sure who controls the home video rights. There's a chance since it was shot in 1999 that it might have been shot in 3-perf 35mm film, in which case it would translate to 16x9 HD pretty well. My gut feeling, though, is that because that whole period from 1999-2004 was transitional, it was only shot in 4x3... so you'd lose 25% at the bottom of the frame for HD.

Really, this is not a show that lacks anything because of an absence of a blu-Ray version. If anything, listen in 2 channel stereo when you make friends with this show - truly one of the all time greats.

This was probably "Get Real" with Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg.

Considering how the show ends, were the family named with Bob Weir in mind?

Bill Haverchuck is one of the greatest characters in the past 25 years. I adore this show.

I've been catching up on this show via Netflix.

Can someone fill me in on the current DVD set? What kind of commentaries are there? Other extras?

    Thanks.

There are two DVD sets, the "normal one" and the "high school year book limited edition." Get both :)

The Linda Cardellini and John Francis Daley extras are adorable. It's like they actually were brother and sister around the set.

  13. The Breakfast Club wasn't very good. Just a collection of ridiculous stereotypes and a horribly lame set of soundtrack songs.

The real bonus on the DVD is that almost all the music from the series is on the DVD.

I finally cracked open my Blu-Ray set and we did a marathon of the 18 episodes. Everything was just as funny as the first time I watched. Tears of laughter during Nick serenading Lindsey with Lady. And a few tears of sadness as Bill watches Garry Shandling on the Dinah Shore show.

One of most underrated scenes in the entire series for me was Bill's reaction to getting his go-cart slammed into the bails of hay and losing the race.

Only one thing bothered me just a tad. If they were supposed to be in Michigan, why was it never cold ever?

It's so fascinating to hear Judd and Paul talk in that interview before the show is canceled how they used to mail vhs tapes of unaired episodes to their super fans.
