    If they had made them 2 hours each, I'd agree. Far, far too many directors nowadays are making movies between 2-1/2 and 3 hours these days, and it's caRAzy.

    I wrote up my review of "Maleficent" today and it made me realize how often I complain that movies are too long. I thought about because "Maleficent" was probably too SHORT - not sure the movie would've truly been better at 120 minutes or so, but it only goes for 97 minutes, and given its scope, that seems brief.

    I'm actually pretty happy with the Hobbit movies, though. Don't love 'em - they're not as good as the LOTR flicks - but I've liked 'em... :shrug:

    I could scarely wait for each installment of LOTR. For this series, I think I'll wait for the final Hobbit installment to hit the $3 theater.

    Film editing is starting to feel like a lost art. I like the "if it doesn't advance the story, cut it" ones.
