Giorgio, they are too busy complaining about HOTH The Ocean to worry about such trivia...

There is some deadwax information on discogs.com about both US releases though...

Actually it was bought from the US (pretty sure the Australian market releases feature the Optimal press versions).

Anyway, back cover of LZ1 states Manufactured & Marketed by Warner Music Group, Burbank, CA; while back cover of the "companion audio" states Marketed by Warner Music Group. Neither cover states 'made in'.

Is Led Zeppelin IV pressed by Pallas or Optimal? In addition to that, I live in Europe and it's far more cheaper to order it on LP from amazon Spain (I have Prime) than to amazon US, which Prime doesn't apply on shipping to Spain. Are European pressings by Optimal and US ones by Pallas or is it hit and miss?
    Thanks in advance.

This is on my Optimal LZ IV that I ordered from Amazon UK.
I am still awaiting HOH should be any day now.
    Disc label, 8122 79657-7
    BD 6359-01 A1 A1 JD
    BD 16359-01 B1

This is odd. My numbers are somewhat different.
    Mine is the single LP.

Your LZ II is an Optimal press...with only one B1 on side two...interesting...
While your LZ I ia a Pallas press.

    Just to clarify:
    - Two Europe plants, Optimal and Pallas, both based in Germany.
    Basically:
    - For EU market, (8122 series) are pressed by Optimal.
    - For US/CAN market (R1 series) are pressed by Pallas (P.USA in deadwax).

So, your conclusion is correct: if you order by Amazon Spain you should have an Optimal press, while by Amazon US it should be Pallas.

Are quality controls and therefore impact so much on sound quality on superior pressed Pallas Led Zeppelin's to their Optimal counter parts sold in Europe?
