It's very close. I chose HELP only because it's a little more versatile. I like John better than Paul but HELP is better balanced. AHDN is John heavy.

axeugene It don't matter if yer by my side, I'm satisfied

I immediately had a gut reaction to A Hard Day's Night being the stronger album. If I want to just sing my face off for 39 minutes, that's my go to.
But then I looked closer at Help! and I think I've been fooled by it simply having a weaker finish with Dizzy Miss Lizzy. That's a solid batch of songs with a slight edge of more sophistication.

BTW, It's Only Love is only 2 Minutes long?? Most of this music (All of AHDN) is under 3min. Unbelievable. Bloody unbelievable to accomplish so much in so little time.

Help was the album that finally got me into the Beatles. Rubber Soul made me a fan. So Help.

It's got "I've Just Seen a Face" and "Yesterday" plus side one is one of their very most solid. Help it is.

"Help!", because I really like the elements of folk music that the Beatles brought into their sound.

I voted for A Hard Day's Night because it is the Beatles album that I think sums up Beatlemania.

I've been liking the early Beatles music more for about 5 years now, everything before Sgt. Pepper.

Paul's background vocals on "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" in the outro.

As I used to walk to work (2 miles) and listen to music, I know that A Hard Day's Night lasted from door to door and runs for exactly 30 minutes. Their shortest album.

AHDN - because Ringo doesn't sing on it (at least not solo).

I vote for A Hard Day's Night. The music just sounds so fresh and alive, imho. It's also difficult to separate it from the movie that launched a thousand bands.

Simple: the first one is a serious candidate for the title "the best Beatles album", the second one for the title "the worst Beatles album". On the one hand perfect songwriting, great consistent sound and style (give my regards to Rickenbaker), a real gamechanger. On the other hand you have a tired terrible sounding hodge podge (ok, with few gems - Ticket to Ride is one of their best). The quality of both films is similar.

  25. 'Dizzy Miss Lizzy' and 'Yesterday' are two of my least favorite Beatle songs (and the rest of side two on HELP! isn't much better, save for 'I've Just Seen A Face') so AHDN it is for me.
