Anyone know of a B&W dealer that is also a SHF member?

Interesting article. You say "Up first was the 802 Diamonds. They were hooked up to the creme de la creme. Top of the line McIntosh gear. Each speaker was hooked up to the behemoth MC2301 tube amp. The source was an MCD500 SACD player (liquid smooth!)" but you fail to say what other sources they are conected to (Amps, pre and so on). Can you let me know what exact models these are? Looks like a lotta McIntoshs.... Is this "the" ultimate setup for these speakers?

Call the dealer and tell them you're 4 hours away and ask if they can make it worth your while to drive on down. I did this for a place that was 50 minutes away and they knocked 20% off.

That depends on one's preferences. There are a lot of happy McIntosh/B&W 800-series owners on the Forum, but there is also good synergy with Pass Labs, Classe, etc.

I've read some recent posts elsewhere of studios that had the 802D and switched over to Tyler Acoustics' Decade D1x.

Curious to know if anyone has any experience with Tyler loudspeakers??
