Sundazed and brickwalled do not belong in the same sentence.

    No, he's not.

Sundazed's Bob Irwin definitely does not brickwall his masterings. Also, he tends to smooth over the high-end, not accentuate it.

Did not know that. I've only ever had a few Sundazed CDs and none of them sounded that good in my opinion. One was clipped, sibilant, and what sounded like it had new noise introduced in the remaster due to poorly digitizing the tapes

The Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton mono sundazed CD was one of the most exciting experiences I have had with that album and I had it probably 3 times prior including on good vinyl. Sorry to say I have not gotten of my a^& enough to play A Hard Road sundazed CD yet but this is inspiring because I expect the same.

Cannot say I have had a bad sundazed experience yet myself, certainly not clipping or anything other than the tape recognizing they tend to tackle some less genteel tapes.

If you're interested I can post a sample from my disc.
I can safely recommend it though, it sounds excellent to me.

If you could post one full song in a loss-less format it would be much appreciated. The first song will do just fine.

    Thanks

As pointed out above I was not kidding around. I have numerous Sundazed releases and nothing sounds "brickwalled". They are one of the best labels in the 'biz. :) If you do grab any of the Mayall discs let us know what your opinion is.

Keep in mind that when Sundazed stuff goes OOP they can be very expensive via third party sellers. Get' em while they are cheap.

    I will do just that.

One reason I had a bad experience with Sundazed was because of a Nancy Sinatra reissue. "Boots" to be specific. There seemed to be a fair amount of noise I never heard when listening to the original LP. And there was some definite clipping. In fact, I just found the CD and here's a screen shot of the image file for the CD loaded into Audacity.

Not the best remastering I've seen. This isn't just a few samples clipped, several seconds of audio are clipped.
