May be difficult to find these days, but he's been promising an update for years now.

Yeah, I agree but then I've known her since the late 80s so I've got more music by her than any other artist including dozens of cassettes of everything from electronic orchestral pieces to electric Miles type stuff done with keyboards only and live sets from various venues. Most people haven't heard of her so when I call her one of the greatest living pianists
I usually get that puzzled look from them. I know it's hard to buy blind but she has a website that allows you to listen to samples and watch video performances too, a site she created herself. I buy music from her regularly. She had some pretty brutal back surgery over a year ago and is still trying to get back in the groove. She was unable to play for a long time which put her in a financial bind so buy all the music you can from her. You'll get some great music and help a musician directly.

Just had to share this next one with my friends on The Beat!

It's been a long time coming collecting all this gear but today I finally have my tape rig set up.

To inaugurate my new set-up I will play the following!

Back in the 70's a radio station in Chicago WXRT used to record local concerts directly from the soundboard and air them on what was called "The Un-Concert" on Sunday nights which was sponsored by 7 Up. Well anyways I used to record them onto cassette tape. This was one of many I recorded & attended. An incredible concert to say the least!

The Jan Hammer Group ~ Live at the Park West, Chicago, 1979

Jan Hammer, keyboards; Colin Hodgkinson, bass, vocal; Greg Carter, drums

With Gordon Jenkins and orchestra, a beautiful take on the standards before it was cool to do so.

Is that the same Colin Hodgkinson that played wild and crazy bass with Back Door? I hadn't thought about that band in a while. If I didn't have to work tomorrow I'd put their lp in the tonight pile. After tomorrow I have the next two off, so maybe tomorrow night.

Yes Sir with Alexis Korner and so on. Incredible bass to put it mildly. One of the best I've ever seen in concert. The tape sounds great like your at the old Park West, my old hang out. At this show Hammer focused a lot on Chicago Blues and Colin is perfect for that! I will be looking for some "Back Door" lp's, never owned one.

The miss-match of music of all time with Tonio K ( which suck completely) and The Jan Hammer Group.

I just found the ticket that I scanned a couple years ago. I can't believe it was only 2 bucks I forgot!!! I'm sick!

I only have the first Back Door album and I don't think they made many ore after that, one or two most likely. It is sax, bass and drums in a jazz rock vein so right up your alley.
