Electronic Instrumentals That Drive You Crazy

Which ones do you love? What synth line or drum track in particular just makes you go crazy?

Although it is not their best track, the sampled synth line from Robot Rock? OOOOOMPH.



It just makes me go bananas. I think it's a Moog - god, that's squelching and electronic gushy goodness I love it.

 

And lest I look like a fool, yes, the sample was taken from Breakwater's classic track Release The Beast.

 

The synth sound in that uses oscillator sync, so that eliminates the minimoog and most other Moog models.

 

Is this a good makes you crazy or a bad makes you crazy?

 

I was just listening to "Robot Rock" the other day, and I was thinking how strange it is that I actually dig the song so much....
I mean... it's incredibly repetitive, there's really not much *to* the song at all....
But man, it's just a great groove, and that synth riff is so damn infectious!!

It boggles my mind that MTV would play tracks like this 20 years ago. 7+ minute instrumental track that consists of nothing more than a swarm of Roland TB-303s and a beat with two head-noddin' nerds keeping it all under control.

This, The Horror by RJD2, just makes me want to get up and go somewhere with grim intent, bwa ha ha!!!

Actually a great album from an overlooked artist (IMHO) who provided the melody for the Mad Men theme, amongst other things.....
