    At the time in 67 or whatever, I considered "Susie Q" and "Keep On Chooglin'" to be very psychedelic. Any time you could get a 4th string, 7th fret A note to start feeding back for five or ten minutes, you definitely weren't playing jazz.

    Hmm... A stretch! Sure it's got that baroque opening, but the effect is fading by the chorus, and totally lost by the time of the spoken word bit.

    Why?

    The VU are the very opposite of psychedelic - heroin (naturally) and addiction as against LSD and tripping.

    I think you need to look at the history of drone and John Cale's part in it before comparing to other songs and making assumptions about it being part of psychedelia.
