    Videos? Nah.

However, I've decided that Quiet Riot's song "Metal Health" might be one of the greatest songs ever. I love the groove, the riff, and Chuck Wright's slippery, greasy bass lines. Great song (even if it did get played in "Footloose")

Yes. A favorite of mine. This was their only album that sounded like this. The albums that followed changed in sound but each one was a different breed of progressive rock. None of their albums sound the same. Great band with diverse musical abilities.

Gloriously silly video from one of my favorite KISS albums. Eric Carr looks rather uncomfortable - maybe the aquanet is melting and running into his eyes?

Was it in the original Footloose? I know it got a major focus in the new film as the "wild" music that gets Ren in trouble.

You think maybe they chose that band name to court a bit of controversy and get some press? ;)

You know, that's a good question. Maybe I'm confused ...

There was a new "Footloose"

Not sure now, but I could swear that's what Kevin Bacon's character was playing as he drove up to the school and it drew attention from the kids in the parking lot.

He probably was. It's just been longer since I have seen that one since I saw the remake, which came out in late 2011 or early 2012.

Good tune. I saw them in the early 2000s at one of the hair metal nostalgia tours Poison brought through every summer. I didn't know QR's music at all apart from the one or two hits songs. They were surprisingly heavy and way better than I expected them to be.

I'm definitely not a big fan of QR (at all -- I hate their Slade covers) and am lukewarm on most of their other stuff, but "Metal Health" (the song) rules.

Phil Collins is not invited to this thread, nerd!

I didn't say it caused me to start buying their records. LOL It was just that I expected them to suck.

On a similar but opposite note, whatever esteem I may have had for RATT ended when I saw them a couple of times then. I literally fell asleep during one of their shows (and no, I wasn't imbibing anything). Fortunately, I woke up in time for the Vince Neil solo headlining performance.

Or maybe that's unfortunate? Fat!Vince was not at his best 1998-2005.

I know it's a classic video. It's also meets the definition of AOR, professor!

Gotcha. I knew where you were coming from re: Quiet Riot.

Cool thread idea. Sorry I didn't play along, but I sort of contributed. :)

Their big claim to fame for us youth group kids was that some of the members started in the almost mythical Christian band Rage of Angels before forming Steelheart. This song showed up on a Christian rock compilation (Ultimate Metal 2, I want to say, or maybe it was the famous California Metal comp), and we were always looking for the band's CD. Some years later, I remember finding it in a used shop. It was like the holy grail. LOL

Listening to it now for the first time in decades. Strangely, I can still sing along all the lyrics. o_O

    A great song as well!
This group was always curious to me. The band in the video looked like a bunch of Mick Mars/Izzy Stradlin clones!
