What albums do you play at least weekly?

I have about a handful of albums (six actually) that I've listened to on a weekly basis for years/decades. I just never seem to tire of them and they always bring me a great deal of pleasure. And when I listen to them I don't want to be disturbed, even though I can cue them up again and start over. It just annoys me if I have to do that.

The albums I play weekly are:
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon
    Mike Oldfield - Tubular bells
Harmonium - Si on avait besoin d'une cinquime saison
Rickie Lee Jones - Rickie Lee Jones
    Fiori-Seguin - Deux cents nuits a l'heure
Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination

There are quite a number of others that see regular rotation, but these 6 albums just draw me in and I have to play them. All of these albums were bought as day one releases so you can imagine how many times I've heard them....

I'm sure I'm not alone ......or am I?

Apart from when an album is new to me and I'm hammering it as I get to know it, I don't think I play any album more than maybe 3 times a year. Too many to choose from.

None. I don't like listening to the same music over and over.

Probably some of the top classics like Abbey Road, Let It Bleed, Allman Brothers Fillmore East, DSOTM etc. There's probably a core two dozen or so albums that rotate daily so they end up probably being played around once a week on average.

Classic albums that I never get sick of!

I hit phases here and there. This week I have listened to Gimme Fiction by Spoon several times. Same with Illmatic by Nas and Booker T and the MG's Greatest Hits.

Last week it was the new J Mascis record, Robert Glasper and Earth's Angels of Darkness albums.

I think I'm gonna hit up the Beastie Boys and middle period Pink Floyd (Obscured by Clouds, Meddle) over Thanksgiving break.

Who Knows Where the Time Goes - Judy Collins

Those two immediately spring to mind. The Beatles, at least once a week. the Judy Collins a couple of times a month. I'm sure there are more, they just aren't occurring to me now.

The thought of playing the same albums on a weekly basis seems abhorrent.

Then I realized that I do probably play most or all of Donna Summer's Bad Girls, Miles Davis' A Tribute To Jack Johnson, On The Corner and Get Up With It and Herbie Hancock's Sound-System on a weekly basis while exercising. Just that it's broken-up into hour-long segments.

All my John Martyn albums - 17!!
All my Nic Jones albums - 5
    Joni Mitchell - "Blue"

And I have no intention of not playing them so often, just too special - I'd play them daily if time allowed.

I have too much music and too little time to play the same things over and over. I certainly did when I only had a few albums but that was 40 years ago.

I play Joy Division - Closer about 100 - 150 times per year, but I do take more than one-week breaks, maybe up to a month.... before going back to bingeing on it... And I always play it right through...never, ever, ever skipping, or just playing one track...Sometimes CD, sometimes LP, sometimes MP3!

Sorry, it's not quite a 'yes' to your question, but it's the best I can do :tiphat:

I've been collecting since 1967 and have an extensive collection so I understand what you're saying, but I'm just drawn in by the albums I mentioned.

If I gotta listen to the same things week after week, it's time to get some new music!
When I look for something to listen to, I usually pick something I haven't heard in awhile.

Too Many albums to play any one of them weekly.
But as far as Bands go, I usually play some music from 'Yes' and 'Jethro Tull' each week.

No albums get played entirely on a weekly basis. Not even monthly. I have too many to do this. Certain tracks may come up once a week on random playlists in shuffle mode when I'm on the go. But entire albums, no.

It's not about looking for music as I have enough (3,000+ LPs and growing). I play 6+ hours of music every day (I'm retired), so I get lots of variety.

Man are you lucky. My most ardent wish is to live until retirement in good health , in order to listen to music and play guitar all day every day.

Zero. I'd get sick of even my very favorite albums super fast if I listened to them every week (or every month, for that matter). And there's just too much music and too little time to listen to the same album every week.
