The best Who song ever is "I Can See For Miles."

'Who's Next' has always been my favorite Who album, so while not my first choice on the album, I like 'My Wife' as part of the album.

My favorite Keith moment on Who's Next is when the drums come back in on "Won't Get Fooled Again," but yeah, my favorite Keith song is "Going Mobile," by far.

  5. I think my favorite Keith Moon moment is on "Becks Bolero" from Jeff Beck's Truth album. His blood-curdling scream and the way he somehow seems to hit every drum and cymbal he has at the same time just epitomizes rock&roll to me.

I don't like that song at all, to be honest. Out of all the songs on Who albums between Sell Out and Quadrophenia, it's my least favourite track!

great song, but not the best. The lyrics I think are awesome, they roll right off the tongue and are fun as hell to sing along to.

Not even the best song on Who's Next. Good but not great.

Love the lyrics, Entwhistle's best song IMO.

A great song by Entwistle, and would potentially be an album best for many bands, but it's sandwiched between some of the greatest rock masterpieces of all time. Tough competition!

  11. Love it. I always secretly wished John had more input on their catalog. And I think his first 2 solo records show he had more ability.

The thread reminds me that no band's musicians see their names misspelled as much as the Who!

Me too, whenever I miss The Ox I put on a Gt. Britain Track single of The Pictures of Lily.

In awesome MONO sound, The Ox comes on with his bass like a hurricane. (Stereo mix is weak and does not count and is unlistenable in comparison to the original mono.) Since 1967, each time I hear it I am amazed and speechless how he can carry the tune. There no better bassist in the world!

Remember after Looney's death? He remained overqualified and unemployable for years. Those weak bands were so afraid of him and his musical genius, nobody dared to approach him.

Just listen carefully to his playing and you will know what I mean.

While it was a concert favorite of mine, there's Johns writing and songs are not in the same league as Petes.

That said, there's at least 100 songs of Petes I'd rather listen too.

It's in my top ten along with Trick of the Light and 905. I couldn't pick a best Who song though.

It's the weak link on a very strong album. The lyrics aren't really professional quality and the rhythm track is painful to listen to, sounding like the band didn't really gel when recording.

I absolutely love it on Who's Next...never tire of it...its not been beaten to death by the radio

  21. I love Smash but I also love My Wife. Keeps me out of trouble ;)

Seriously, the lyrics for My Wife are amusing giving the album a much needed injection of humor.

Not even close (it's the weakest track on Who's Next if you ask me)

Not their best song by a long shot, but I dig the live version from The Kids are Alright album.
