Love the whole movie, except the ending. Once they start singing that's when I turn it off...Way too cornball! :D

Forrest Gump was his best role. No film of his has topped that one IMO..

Tom needed the Oscar for Big instead of the two movies he did receive the award.

:agree: That was such a genuine, wonderful performance. By contrast, Hanks was one-dimensional in "Philadelphia" and "Gump", though not through any fault of his own - those were one-dimensional roles.

I guess it's ironic that Hanks lost in 1988 to someone else who played a one-dimensional part... :shake:

The Money Pit is a classic! Love this scene with the flying turkey and Tom Hanks finally losing it!

My favorite Tom Hanks movies are his early ones - The Money Pit,Turner & Hooch,Big & Sleepless In Seattle. When he became a serious actor his movies became much less fun to watch. Love Philadelphia but Gump & most of his later movies do nothing for me.

I think my favorite Tom Hanks movie is Forrest Gump. Next to that Castaway. Both movies were tearjerkers. The Green Mile was good too. Da Vinci Code I enjoyed.

I preferred the sequel to "Da Vinci Code". "A&D" was pretty exciting...

I'd watch him in "The History Of Mud." He's one of few actors whose work draws me away from my home gear and into a theater.
