3.5 stars. OK, I'll retract "umbrage" in favor of mild disagreement. ;) I'd give it 4.5 stars while using the Bo Diddley disc as a beer coaster.

30 April '77 - what a show. May '77 doesn't have a monopoly on the best Spring '77 shows after all. This is amongst the most powerful '77 shows I've ever heard. The Terrapin encore is kicking my head in right now. How have I not heard more praise for this show????

...as well as substituting "crack" into the lyric...."Living on reds, vitamin C and crack all a friend can say ain't it a f uc kin shame"

that was more towards the late 80's

I haven't heard many "Truckin'"s from this era but Deadbase mentions him singing "livin' on crack, vitamin C and cocaine" on 4/4/87 (just listened to the Archive to confirm). By the 90's I don't remember any "crack" versions but I remember "all a friend can say, a f**kin shame" a few times.

They have some good ones on the dead.net site. I'll order one of these days, probably.

I had a "One Man Gathers What Another Man Spills" bumper sticker on my car in 1985. When that car bit the dust and I schlepped it to the junkyard in 1986, I learned the practical definition of the word irony.

Long drive to visit family gave me a chance to listen to Dave's Picks 2 (7-31-74). Lots of great stuff.

Also, if anyone needs it, there is a new/sealed copy of the Winterland 1973 box on eBay for $95. I am not affiliated with it, but saw it this morning.

That's a good one...reminded me of a few shows around that one that I love even more..8/4/74 and 8/5/74. The meat of these shows is on Dicks Picks 31.

Sounds awesome.....At the risk of sounding a lil cliche, this one is "all about the bass" :)

only complaint, I wish that they would do away with the "scuffy" plastic sleeves..

also picked up the 2FTV release, haven't played but packaged very nicely!

This morning listened to D*ck's 31. Been on a 1974 kick lately, and I like this one a little more each time I give it a spin. The PITB > Scarlet > PITB > UJB that closes Disc 4 is terrific.

Plan to spend most of today and night with "The Other One" box set listening.

Just started 3/25/90 Knickerbocker Arena, Albany; Greatest Story, Touch of Grey, Wang dang doodle and now Never trust a Woman just started playing....

As an old dead head who's journey with this band starting in 1970, this tour just blows my mind. Brent was such an incredible addition. I feel bad for a few of my old friends who are stuck on the "early days". It's true they certainly special, but that magic continued and reinvented itself throughout they years.

Now this is how to enjoy a long weekend imo ^^

    Peace -Zafu
