I'm that way with a lot of alt/indie rock but I don't mind the singing in Radiohead.

There's no bad Wagner on DG, so it's a pretty safe bet.

Philips included all these recordings in this 2-fer, minus the stare-down of course. ;)

Yes it is new. I doubt they are cashing in big time on classical LPs. But they are making a great product in this case. It's apparently very difficult to sell classical LP reissues outside of the typical audiophile war horses from RCA, Mercury and Decca. I suggested a Moravec CS reissue series to Chad Kassem and he literally scoffed at the idea. Hopefully they are making enough money to keep producing more reissues on LP.

My original six eye copy will do just fine thank you.

Possibly the most best selling recording of this during the LP era,if all the copies I've seen at thrift stores and dollar bins are any indication.I prefer the Munchinger myself.

Second spin. This performance is as good as this cover is bad. :yikes:

Looking for any feedback or clarity on the recent Melodiya vinyl reissues. There is literally no information out there on them and they are incredibly confusing.

For some titles they have two different covers. But the problem is it is so hard to find tracklistings for each LP that I can't confirm whether or not they have the same content. Can't seem to find any reviews on any of them either. Also they are pricey and one set of covers has 'Limited Edition' on the cover but they other does not.
Some of the releases seem really interesting too and there is a lot of potential for them to release some lesser available material.

These are the releases I know of so far.

    David Oistrakh Vol 1 & Vol 2
    Kogan and Gilels Violin Duo
    Daniil Shafran Vol 1
    Sviatoslav Richter Vol 1
    Evgeny Kissin Vol 1
    Maria Yudina Vol 1
    Piano Trio (Oistrakh, Knushevitsky, Oborn)
    Evgeny Scetlanov Vol. 1

Here are the two available covers. Not sure if every release so far has gotten this.

This is probably the definitive version of Harmonielehre, and no doubt the best in terms of SQ. Get it.

Does Nonesuch still exist as a record label?

Another phenomenal recording by this amazing ensemble. I don't think the percussion (a drum kit) adds anything to the last movement of the Haas Quartet No.2--in fact, I find it distracting and wish they had opted for the non-percussion version, but otherwise this is a superb recording.

I think the "Nonesuch" label has the neatest artwork on their old LPs. If anybody has any that are as interesting as this one please post a photo. They are so colorful and seem timeless.

How that name is pronounced? Like 'none' and 'such' together?

Of course, they've probably made more money on Wilco that on the entire classical output over the last decade. (I like Wilco, by the way.)

Also, Steve Reich has had an exclusive contract with nonesuch for about 25 years. Maybe more.

Wan't Nonesuch run at some point by a woman by the name Theresa Stern, who was really knowledgeable about classical music marketing?
