I always thought the original mono Iron Butterfly records were fold downs.

I have three or four original sealed copies of Tonights The Night with cut corners, but I have not been able to locate them for ages.Sometime around 1988 a mess of copies turned up at K Mart stores as $1.66 cutouts.I would love to flip 'em,but I can't find 'em.

Pretty sure that Heavy is a dedicated mix.

Live at the Cellar Door was well worth the $40, in my opinion.

I have no doubt Driver 8. But coming out right before Christmas, with an already tight budget, and having just spent a bunch on the RSD right before that, I couldn't justify the 4x price of the cd.

Frankly I wish I could afford to buy more vinyl than I do, but talk about a first world problem....

I'm right there with you on that front. If you like Neil, and you do have a chance to snag the Cellar Door album in the future, though, I'd highly recommend it.

How is it different from the other live releases that makes it worth the $40 if you're not a completist?

After the Gold Rush is probably my favorite Neil album, and it's like the unplugged version of After the Gold Rush. Also, the sound quality is amazing.

Sorry for the stupid question, but is the Cellar Door solo or with a group?

Solo. And he does an incredible solo piano version of "Flying on the Ground is Wrong" that is worth the price of the whole album.

Anyone who's super excited over Long Tall Sally being cut at 45 - well, don't be. At the diameter of a 7", even if rotating at 45rpm... Well I haven't done the math on this so I may be wrong, but my best guesstimate - the tracks will have a higher rotational velocity on the LP than the 45, even though it is cut at 33 RPM, because they are physically situated closer to the edge of the disc.

So anyone should not be purchasing it with expectation of better quality, except perhaps in comparison with an original pressing. Look at it for what it is - a limited reissue of a historical release that has been out of print for decades, marketed to collectors. We should be thankful that instead of quickly pushing it out to market, the people in charge of creating it went to great lengths to do the absolute very best job they could and make the most out of what it could be. :)

At that price, we'll really see whether or not there is a sucker born every minute.

So for our friends in time zones earlier than the USA--what say ye about the sound quality of what you picked up?
