I'd get the biggest honkin' JBLs that will fit in your space. Think '15" woofer'.

I wish I could fit some 15" JBLs. The B&W 804 will have to work in my space. Even 803's would be pushing it. I guess I will have to pickup any lost bass with a sub. I will report on how it sounds but 240w per channel to 804s should bring them out nicely, I hope :)

Well, I hooked up the 804's to my old Rotel 100wpc amp. They sound pretty amazing. I am hoping when my Mcintosh gear is done with restoration, the extra 140wpc will help in the bottom end. So far I am very happy.

It sounds like the foundation of a first class vintage system.

Do you have the instructions for making mono mode connections?

I do not have the instructions and the manual seems a little confusing or maybe I am just dumb.

I have been searching and have mixed results on how people hook up to the binding posts. I was just going to ask Mark at AB Sound Labs but if you have any insight it would be appreciated.

    From the MC 2120 Owner's Manual: (p 5)

    Pretty straightforward:

    MONOPHONIC OR SINGLE CHANNEL OPERATION
When the MC 2120 is used as a monophonic or single
channel power amplifier the two channels are combined to
produce output up to 240 watts. The outputs must be tied
together at the appropriate load impedance tap. In connecting
a load to the MC 2120 for single channel operation
connect the common side of the load to the LEFT CHANNEL
OUTPUT terminal marked COM., the other lead is connected:
    If the speaker
    or load
    impedance is
    1 ohm
    2 ohms
    4 ohms
    8 ohms
    The hot side
    of the line is
    connected to
    Left 2
    Left 4
    Left 8
    Left 16
    Connect a jumper
    wire between
    Left 2 and Right 2
    Left 4 and Right 4
    Left 8 and Right 8
    Left 16 and Right 16

Entire MC 2120 manual (PDF) for full instructions.

Thanks, that does make sense, I guess I didn't read it right the first time.

Can't wait to get the gear back!
