I'm gonna argue against "Pac-Man" being outdated because kids still know it! I assess kids who're mostly between the ages of 7 and 11, and one of the measures I use is a drawing activity. The kids have to copy designs from cards.

One of the designs looks like Pac-Man - and I've had many, many of these kids go "Pac-Man!!!" when they see it.

I used to be shocked these kids still knew about Pac-Man, but it's happened so much that I'm now surprised when they DON'T comment! :)

ONLY if you have copper all the way back to the CO. Many "landlines" are now a pair as far back as the first pedestal and it's fiber from there. Most have a standby battery but that may only give you an hour or two.

And remember, most COs only have 24 hours standby any more because the EPA has made diesel fuel storage much more restrictive.

Well, calling it "Pac-Man Fever" may be outdated. If recorded today, it'd be "Pac-Man Ebola"... :D

Yeah, but then we get lawyers and rules - screw that!

BTW, Telegraph Road is a prominent highway in Michigan, so I guess they're outdated, too! :D

Actually, the muscle cars of the 1960s could be pretty tough to work on because you were trying to fit so much engine under the hood. On some engines it took an "according to Hoyle miracle" to reach the two rear spark plugs. And woe betide you if you had to replace the oil pan gasket. I say this as somebody whose infatuation with a 1968 Mustang turned into an extended seminar in self-taught auto repair (and mine was reasonably easy to work on because it had a 302 engine -- other options included monsters like a 390, a 427 and a 428).

But when it was running, a trip to the grocery was transformed into a RIDE.
