JJ Abrams has revealed the names of the new Star Wars characters seen in the first trailer:

This casts some doubt on that plot summary spoiler-posted above -- Oscar Isaac's character doesn't have the name they said he did...

I think outside of the people that worked on it, no one really knows what occurs in SWTFA....and that's a good thing. I want to be genuinely surprised next December.

 

From this type of promotion it does seem like they got a real fan to do this film.
Let's hope they bring back the glasses & cups from Burger King & McDonald's.

 

And "Commander Cody"...the well known clone marshal commander of the Third Systems Army, which included the 212th Attack Battalion and Ghost Company, under the command of Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Clone Wars.

Commander Cody....seriously, George!? Did he drive a Hot Rod Lincoln?

 

Don't forget that he was also in charge of the Lost Planet Airmen.

This marketing move is cooler than anything that was done for the prequels combined. Another vote of confidence for JJ from me.

That is amazing. It makes me like that droid design a LOT more.

He looked pretty much the same in Revenge of the Sith. I guess wookies have long life span.

 

They do. Chewie was 200 years old at the start of the original trilogy.
