HELLo all. I notice a trend with amazingly talented bands, they go stron and release some great albums and then they end up putting out some pretty shifty records. They might come back with another album that is great again but they still seem to have that really bad tattoo that they got in college. What are some bands that have not one bad or weak album? Led Zeppelin comes to mind, with every album being killer and reinventing their sound. What are some others?

    Rules:
    1) no bands with one or two albums, because lets be honest, they don't have enough material to choose from
    2) Fight as much as you want, I don't care. I want to hear your opinion, and if someone disagrees, i would like for you to state your case because i like the brain's inter workings.

    enjoy pesants

Led Zeppelin's last two studio albums are weak, IMO.

Anyone listing The Beatles has to consider Yellow Submarine.

I won't claim that every album by these artists is great, but all of them are at least good:

    Steely Dan
    Pearl Jam
    Soundgarden
    King Crimson
    Wilco
    Velvet Underground
    Kate Bush
    Talking Heads
    Porcupine Tree

If you don't count the posthumous releases as proper albums, the Doors and Jimi Hendrix make my list. If Steely Dan had stopped after "Gaucho", I'd include them too.

The Doors only had six albums but they're all pretty strong (The Soft Parade catches a lot of flack). Same with Eagles, six pretty good albums.

I know a lot of people agree with you, but I have never understood the negativity towards Presence. One of my favorite Zep albums and the hardest rocking of them all. What don't you like about it?
