I'm tedering on the edge of ordering a Devialet 200 to replace my Simaudio 600i and Ayre QB9-DSD. I've had one at home for demo the last 2 days.

Introduced a Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100 into my completely vintage sytem. Now I have the ability to play all my lossless files easily at their original resolution.

I replaced my Technics SL-DD22 turntable in the living room with a Pro-Ject 2 Xperience turntable with a Pro-Ject Tube Box S phono stage, AND I upgraded my speakers in the same room from Polk Audio speakers to Focal Chorus 826V speakers. I'd say it was a substantial improvement and well worth the money spent. I am enjoying it immensely.

I went the other way. Sold my Marantz 2252, then regretted it 24 hours later. Probably could've asked for it back, but didn't want to be 'that' guy. Still lamenting the loss.

Buying Vincent SP 991 Monoblocs to hook up my existing Denon PMA 1510...I've got the POWER!!! Next getting Martin Bastin Power Supply for turntable, buying 2M blue stylus, Chord power cables for amps , making chord cable jumpers for speakers , isolating Gyrodec with two heavy duty chopping blocks (it works), repositioning of speakers (cost nothing!)

SCD 6000 Nearfield Studio Monitors, manufactured by EAW using RCF speakers. They are very accurate, flat, detailed and musical. Great recording sounds life like, holographic, musicians in the room. Bad recordings, well lets say its hard to listen to.

For me 2014 marked the return to vinyl. Haven't bought a CD in the whole year (just a BD audio), only records.

My music hobby was cheap this year. My fishing hobby was too expensive.

    Two upgrades, total cost $53
    Upgraded from Foobar to JRiver;
Added wool around the tweeters to reduce wave defraction from the face of the speaker.

    First place: A brand-new, dedicated listening room, approx. 18' x 39'. I couldn't be happier.

Second place: I traded in my trusty Rega Planar 3 for a brand-new Rega RP6 turntable.

2014 was a game changer for me. I got back into vinyl after 30 years away with a new Music Hall 5.1se TT, and started a vinyl collection from "scratch" to 122 records. It's been fun, educational, and has re-connected me with music in a fundamental way. Don't know what the future will hold, but for now I'm thrilled with discovering and re-discovering music on vinyl.

Nothing... is the most significant change. I think that is a huge statement for someone on an audiophile forum.

    Just buying vinyl!

Upgraded my Phono Pre from a Rogue Audio Stealth Magnum to their Ares model, also rolled in some MIT Shotgun S1 wires and cables.

Both changes have made a significant bump in my Vinyl enjoyment, along with several pair of nos tubes and more Vinyl, of course:whistle:

I once owned a Planar 3- would love to hear your thoughts how the Planar 3 compares to the RP6- I had a Linn K9 on my Planar 3 (no dog jokes please- I have already heard them)

New Hifiman headphones and a Arcam Alpha 8R .
Awesome sweet combo by using the headphone jack from the Arcam (it drives them well).
