Seems more and more Hollywood a$$bits are coming out against this movie.

    I watched it yesterday. I think it's a P.O.S. (patriot-oriented soap-opera). It's the first time a CE film disappoints me.

Your disappointed in a true story? That happens.

I'm disappointed that we spend more money on undeclared wars than on teaching students the difference between your and you're.

Starting to stray back into politics, folks.

    Let's avoid that, okay? :)

  8. I get the rules but that's really what this particular film is about. Otherwise it's just comments about shooting people from a very long distsnce .

Agreed, as a grammer pendant myself, but its a mute point it seams in todays twitterverse. Who can effect farther change, noone knows and it makes me nauseous!

Had the exact same experience yesterday. Impressive to see such a packed theater on a Saturday at 3, when the weather's cruddy and the film's been out for a week.

There was a TV-Movie with Kurt Russell as Whitman in 1975, now available on DVD from Warner Archive. I caught it on TNT in the 90s
and remember thinking it was good.

Watching SNIPER yesterday, and the subplot about the "good" vs. "bad" sniper made me think of ENEMEY AT THE GATE, a fine WWII-set film about rival Russian/German (if I
    recall) snipers.

If that's what you think then you didn't see the movie.

  14. I did. My point was the overall discussion of the film. That's part of the conversation. But probably not here.

This movie is a character study. Those wanting to turn it into a political statement, from either end, are just using it to promote their own agendas. I found it to be very well made.

Seems like a lot of AM radio and other hack "a$$bits" are blindly coming out against critics.

Its not a 'true' story in that its tweaked & polished (not a bad thing....just sayin'). And it is interesting to hear a non US perspective.

 But I'm guessing that many people had no idea that you did something (many things) funny in that post.
