    Awesome talents.
    I am a big fan.
Also check out Chris Thile solo stuff and with Edgar Meyer.
If you like banjo, Noam Pikelney has a couple of solo albums as well.
Looking forward to hearing their new album.

Ouch. The (double) LP is $40.

Don't remember paying that much for the last one.

Of course, seeing that it's going for $600 on Amazon now, I must have...

I really love "Who's Feeling Young Now" and they absolutely blew me away when I saw them live a few years ago. I haven't been able to get into the new album quite as much yet, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. Hoping to see them live in a few weeks, but I have a baby due right around the same time so I may need to sit this tour out.

Who's Feeling Young is a jewel of an album: That Girl, No Concern of Yours, Sooner or Later, Moonshiner, and more. My favorite side of their albums is side two of Anti-Fogmatic starting with Missy and ending with This is the Song.

I saw them last time they came through town and they were superb playing a wide range of material. I have tickets for their return in a few months.

The new album is a little harder to penetrate. Kind of reminds me of the first one. Surprised they don't get more attention on this board.

Love the comment above about Chris Thiile's old soul.

Finally had a chance to pick up the new album.Just played it through this morning.
The first song,"Familiarity" raised every hair on my back. And then "Julep"....
    The lyrics are haunting.
The brilliance of the whole band is undeniable. The musicianship world class. On the last two albums though the depth of emotions that Chris writes about for someone his age boggles the mind.Whats he going to be 34 in a couple weeks? It's not right.
Definitely will take more listens to fully appreciate and I don't know if it will bring the brothers any new fans.
I don't understand the lack of attention for a band like this on a music forum like this either.

He's played it for years now - you can google "Thile Loar", and that should get you a bunch of stuff on it. Not sure if it's up to half a million, though....

I have listened to the Phosphorescent Blues a few time more and think it is another great album albeit different from the earlier ones.
The first song - Familiarity - is a large and varied canvas and worth the price of the album. Does anyone else hear the later Beach Boys (Smile) in some of those choral harmonies?

Fantastic show last night by the Punch Brothers in DC (the third of three nights they played here this weekend). The new material really came alive on stage. My only regret was that I completely forgot to grab the new LP at the merch stand on my way out.
