Los Lobos in March, 3 Dark Star Orchestra shows in early April. Just those 4 shows will make 2015 my busiest concert year in quite some time, but I'm sure there will be more over the summer. Looking forward.

Is this All Starr Band still with Todd Rundgren, Steve Lakather and Gregg Rolie? If so, this a good one.

Going to see tUnE-yArDs when they come here. Moon Hooch, Gogol Bordello, and Future Islands are also coming relatively soon so I will probably see some of those.

Yes, and Gregg Bissonette on drums. I've got good seats, but it's at a casino and those shows can go either way, depending on the sobriety of the audience. The tickets were expensive, so maybe the crowd will be tame.

Cheap Trick is touring with Peter Frampton.
It looks like equal billing so I don't know who will open. I have been keeping an eye out for Cheap Trick and now their are coming near me on one of the summer outdoor venue (packaged oldies) tour. It's not that I don't like Peter Frampton. I just can't get overly excited about it. I may wait until the last minute and see how the weather will be.

Am kicking myself as I was just notified that Joan Armatrading is doing two solo shows back in NYC in late September - to go or not to go.....!? :sigh:

Don't know if you'll see this, Steven, but would love to know if you've done Big Ears before? Was seriously contemplating attending - any info appreciated!

No, I have not been. The only thing I can say is I'm looking forward to it! Because there are so many artists and kinds of music that are new to me. It's not just a rock festival. I bet I get turned on to a lot of stuff. That's my hope. I was thinking of starting a thread about it because the only one here was from the 2010 fest. But that didn't get much response. Lol So maybe not much interest here for it.

Hopefully a Wilco show, a My Morning Jacket show, and fingers crossed for another Sleater-Kinney show if they tour later in the year.

New York in May, I've heard.

That may well be but that may be mainly down to its location - Knoxville is probably not on many people's radar!

It sounds very cool - despite having seen all of them in NYC just last year, I'd gladly drive over for the Kronos Quartet, Laurie Anderson and Rhiannon Giddens anytime. I just wasn't too clear on what else was happening and the festival website sure isn't telling much! We'll see - it's probably still more than worth a punt regardless.
