I love this album! The first time I heard "Give It All You've Got" was on a school bus radio, with the band, on the way for being in a parade. A lot of us on the bus loved it. I immediately went to the mall and bought this album, along with one by The Whispers and Shalamar.

I do too. I got this (not the copy I scanned but another LP) as a present the year it was released. I think my father bought it for me. I loved it immediately. It's almost a part of my DNA. The title track is one of those that can call to mind a time and feeling that my brain can't get to on it's own. There are very few albums like that in my stash but this is one of 'em. Glad you likes!

Going to the mall and buying an album. That experience is all but dried up... :(

    Hi, Lucidae!

I'm happy to take requests but that album's not in my stash. Love the cover of it though and it'd be fun to do. I'm headed over to a few of my favorite record haunts on this side of town on Friday. I'll keep a look out! If you can think of others, I'm more than happy to accommodate.

Great, I appreciate that. This album actually has different cover variations, I managed to find some pictures online:

On the same subject, I would also love to see some nice scans of these albums, which are part of the same series of ballets:

I'll see what I can do about these. If you've seen the site, I'm basically an R&B guy with other things included for fun and by request in some cases. I don't have anything classical but I'm open to it so I'll take a look tomorrow night.

By the way, thanks for Chicago - CTA, and Carpenters: The Singles. Surprisingly hard to find nice quality covers for those albums online.

My pleasure. They were fun to do - especially the Carpenters' album. The booklet is really cool and my two copies yielded different labels. Glad you likes!

My favorite tracks are "Give It All You Got", and "I Never Missed Someone Before". Listening to it now.

I've been trying to update my collection of album covers from online sources, and once in a while, I come up on larger, improved versions I have already. But, a lot of otherwise good ones are 500 x 500, or lower, and my baseline is 600. From the looks of your scans, i'd say that the majority of your collection is centered around the mid-70s to the early 80s. I'm trying to think of albums that you might have that really need to be out there that aren't. And, it is a shame that more R&B and jazz albums, and their cover artwork from that period, aren't out there, or at least looking good. Actually, I do have a long list of stuff I need, but do not have the album, or the means to do them, even if they are in good condition.

And, thanks for leaving the logos on. I HATE it when people remove them.

Yep, that's about right. I tend to concentrate there because album design was so much better then. As things got too digital, album designers seemingly went for less inspired designs.

I wasn't aware that people were removing them. Why? I've got tons of R&B and Jazz things I can add. Just give me an excuse...LOL!

You have your excuse! Now get to work! :D

If you go to the AAE, you'll find scores of covers that have the record label logo removed. The mindset is that the original artists never intended for the logos to be there. But, I like them because they are not only part of the cover art, but it's nice to know what label the albums were on.

I can easily pull stuff off of iTunes and Pono, but a lot of it is terrible! Small sizes, fuzzy, highly inaccurate, or taken from the CD.
