My Shindo Vosne Romanee pre-amp arrived today. Yay!

I also completely rearranged my listening room to put the speakers on the short wall and that wall of glass behind me. I also dragged another rug into the room. Looks kinda stupid, but sounds a lot better. This is definitely a better listening setup.

Haven't had a chance to really evaluate the VR yet. Spent about 30 minutes dialing in the speakers. Not perfect but the imaging is pretty good.

My initial impression... Damn fine! I've been listening to the same CD for the last few weeks (the only CD I've listened to in months). I love the album (Rowland S. Howard's "Teenage Snuff Film"), but felt it wasn't well recorded. It sounded a little too compressed and grainy. On the VR it is silly smooth and his guitar tone is beyond other worldly.

It's sounding so good that I can't seem to get off my ass to play some vinyl.

    Here's a crappy pic.

Congratulations!! Although, with a turntable that nice, you need to spin some vinyl :righton:

I finally put some Sophia Royal Princess tubes in my Meishu Silver and I have been loving that change and my new Classic 3 turntable. I would love to hear those speakers of yours hooked up.

    Enjoy!

Line Magnetic CD deck, right? (I presume Shindo don't do CD playas...)

I can't get enough pictures of your speakers. I hope I see them every time I venture into this forum!

Yeah, LineMagnetic. I can't really evaluate it fairly even though I've had it a few months. I mostly play a CD (the same one) to warm my system up. Have only had two CD's in it. That said, it sounds better than any other CD player I've had.

They don't photograph very well, but look fantastic in person. Fantastic to me anyway. :)

Starting to come together big time Brian.
When you get your room sorted out then all you will have to do is sit back, listen and enjoy.
    That speaker looks huge.

Sorry, Brian, you have to put everything back where it was, hook up your OLD preamp, listen for 2 weeks, THEN put the new pre in the system, and listen for ANOTHER 2 weeks. THEN and only then can you rearrange the room! Sorry, how are we all supposed to know how much difference the new preamp made?

Stopped by Coup de Foudre Audio in Montreal on my way home today. Couldn't help it. I had to take pics of the Shindo and Line Magnetic stuff...
