Light in the Attic's two Country Funk albums are wonderful. Complied with obvious passion and love - the sources vary, however. Some are obvious clean straight from master tapes, others perhaps not. However, my biggest gripe (and it's not much of one) is that they don't double check their liner notes. Not a big deal, but some silly spelling errors and a few mistakes like switching between the names "Bob Darin" and "Bobby Darin". I think they even spell it Darrin on one of them.

Anyway, the music and discovery of this material is awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:

Part one, though "II" is even better IMO

The best I've seen is The Smile Sessions. CDs, LPs, 45s and some decent books. Yes it's a big box but the 3d cover looks amazing

Another vote for Light in the Attic. I have their Native North America box, and it is stunning. Gorgeous, strong outer box, great book, sturdy, well-pressed, great sound. As close to perfect as I think anyone can expect.
