And here it is! A song presumably rejected by Brotherhood Of Man for being too wet...

Poor old Kev. Makes you want to go a little easier on Olly Murs, doesn't it?!

It could've been worse.. maybe if I'd shared it with Hitler.

(the EJ threads become a drag since we can't talk about him.. although now the Westies era is being discussed, well rubbished actually by that pubdubblogspot.. things may well turn back to his wild and crazy life! I hope so.. discussing the merits of Nigel's cymbals versus Roger's tom tom's is a turn off to most I'm sure..!)

Unless you're speaking in a metaphorical way, it does sound pretty dull I admit. The campness was always a big part of Elton's appeal. It's a shame it's off-limits now.

Anyway, I see you as more of a Babydaddy than a Barry Gibb. Am I incorrect?!

I always love answering this question and explaining to people who don't know, who they were. No such problem here though.

    1) Gene Krupa: reknowned jazz/big band drummer - many say he was the best of the very best and it's scary what he could do (I used to drum a bit.)

    2) Captain Beeheart (Don Van Vliet): Totally unique and Safe As Milk has to be a desert island album of mine.

(Not a musician but...) Martin Luther King too! And I hope nobody doesn't know of him... :)

Sadly the talk of big bass drums is all too real.. no wonder nobody else has chipped in..! The camp was always a pretty big part for me too.. he's a bitchy over the hill old queen.. and I love it! Without that angle there's a kind of ordinariness to some of his music, even his "classic" stuff.. I mean, what could be more ludicrous than seeing him deliver a love song in a Donald Duck costume!? Especially the last effort is a po-faced drag.. I miss his humour.. the older I get the less seriously I take myself but Elton's falling over himself to be credible and it's just dull. Anyway that's not for here so I'll keep me trap shut on the subject now!

Hahaha!! :D Babydaddy!? Good grief! I love so much of Barry's music but he's another humourless git..!
I'm probably closer to Conway Titty.. but I'm Gloria at the weekend :)

    Amy Winehouse!!!

Then it got a lot better:

    Steve Gaines
    Paul Kossoff
    Fred Sonic Smith.

I personally believe I was 3 days overdue - September 11 is John Martyn's birthday, that would have been special.

However, shouldn't complain, I was actually born on my Mum's 30th birthday - best present she ever received, apparently:oops:
