Considering picking up Becks new album.
Anyone heard it yet? Ive read the RS review, but I always take it with a grain of salt.

A friend of mine let me listen to it, a few months back. Wasn't too bad but a bit slow and repetitive to me. Just my opinion of course, mate!

Love it. Great in the morning (duh!) with a cup of coffee. Very chill. Great vinyl mastering and pressing too.

One of the best if not the best album of 2014.

I love it. I don't own any of Beck's albums, but when I heard this one, I rushed out to the shops and bought it.

I listened to a cd rip through my system yesterday, I swear the sound is 3d!!!! Funny thing is, I just got my rig out of storage and had been listening through my simple setup and now just realized how awesome the album is. :)

I loved it, but my sense is that beck fans are somewhat split. What's your favorite Beck sound?

Is there a consensus around which version is the best? Vinyl, download or CD?

From the thread, I'd say consensus was on the vinyl sounding best - Also, it comes with a download card for a needledrop of the LP, which is more dynamic than even the HD tracks version.

Yeah, I have the cd, which I ripped. I also have a sealed LP I might open tonight when my buddy stops by. I would like his head to pop off. :)

Initially, I was disappointed when I heard this album was a "companion piece" to Sea Change, only because I wasn't into Beck repeating himself. But after listening to it, I think it's very good. It's Sea Change without the depression. :)

We can all agree that Waking Light is the best song, right?

I say Don't Let It Go is the best song.

My copy is still sealed. Are you positive the download card is for the needledrop version? It doesn't say which version it's for on the sticker.

Great record through and through. Definitely fits in the same space as Sea Change and Mutations.
