"Following" is one of my favorite Bangles songs. Hauntingly beautiful.

Two more links to add. I originally posted this in its own thread, but a friend of mine recently interviewed Dan Navarro about his career and his work with the Bangles (as cowriter of Something To Believe In and I'll Set You Free, though according to him the former was mostly a MS song anyway) and it gives some great insights into her and Navarro's career in general: http://www.mickisteele.net/Dan_Navarro.html

Also, here's a rare 1985 R.E.M performance of '(Don't Go Back To) Rockville' that features Michael (as well as Susanna Hoffs and Peter Holsapple) on backing vocals:

This is interesting. I think most people assume Cherry Bomb was written for Cherie after Michael had departed. Do you have a link where she talks about it? Sorry if I missed it.

She briefly talked about it in a mid-80s Bangles interview:

""After four months I got kicked out. Kim played this song 'Cherry Bomb' to me and I said 'Kim, I can't sing this, it's stupid.' That was the end of my career as a Runaway. It was a great education - it taught me everything I didn't want to do.""

I've read parts of the recent book Queens of Noise: The Real Story of the Runaways by Evelyn McDonnell. Fowley's former muse Kari Krome, as related, takes some credit in the early writing of Cherry Bomb, though she's not credited on the published version. Some interesting passages about Michael as well.

Yeah, McDonnell did a good job, and I like that she gave attention to all eras of the band.

Two interviews I did with related figures also have some info on the 1975 version of the band:

The site I used to co-author went offline last year and appears to be staying that way, so I've been migrating it to Wordpress. Not everything's there yet, but it has a newer, more readable layout, and some slight revisions. I hope it proves of use: http://micki-steele.net/wp/
