NIce. It is a nice book set - the book really took me back.

It has all the Sounds / NME press clippings that i used to buy religouslly every week if THE JAM where in it and cut out and stick all over my walls.

A real trip down memory lane.

The demo's sound lossy to me , I don't think the live gig is though.

I apologize for my ignorance--could those in the know clarify the contents of disc 2 in the 2-disc deluxe set? Is disc 2 primarily demos or the 1979 Rainbow concert?

    Thanks much!

Thanks for the information. I am disappointed--if disc 2 had comprised some of the unreleased demos and alternate versions included in the super deluxe set, the 2-disc deluxe set would have been a much better value. The '79 Rainbow show had already been released with the Jam At The BBC set, significantly reducing its archive value and that of the deluxe set.

    Yep!
That is why the BOX SET is the way to go if you can get it for a decent price.

The book with it is stuffed with old NME , SOUNDS clippings and some nice pics.
Also you get the DEMO's on an extra CD and DVD of all the old TOTP etc perfomances.

The Brighton gig is unreal in this set!!! Powerful and wild, sharp focused playing. I think it beats those original live EP and CD releases by a country mile.

CD 3 brings Live in Brighton 1979, a live performance that has never been previously issued. The 20-song set features Setting Sons in almost its entirety.

My LP copy is apparently a UK second pressing (POLD 5028) because it's got the embossed cover, but the track listing is printed rather than the transparent sticker listing of the first pressing - aaaah.... the wonder of Discogs...
Near mint copies (apparently) with the colour inner sleeve only £ 5 before p&p, so still available quite cheaply for those in the market for vinyl.
    One of the Jam's best.

Try Amazon Germany. Not sure if it counts as cheap but it works out at ~$67 delivered which isn't much more than Setting Sons

Thanks for the tip, by the way.

Likewise, thanks for the link to the Amazon Germany site. I checked the US and UK sites, but didn't think about giving the German site a try. I pulled the trigger and made the purchase. Now I'm caught up with my Jam reissues! :righton:

I am seeing a much higher postage rate, was the shipping choice courier only when you guys ordered?

It gave me a choice between 20-something for standard and 50-something for express.

    I wonder if the Settings
Sadly, I suspect the shipping rates to Canada are higher...or they are not willing to offer the cheaper option.

What is strange is I put in my US address, I don't understand unless it is sensing the IP address I am using.
