I would want a best of version that leaned heavily on Bruford

This seems...excessive. Like the complete shows, but wish it was seven shows from seven different tours. I'd buy that.

Agreed. But it sounds like this could be a series of releases of shows. The next set hopefully will be 78-79 shows.

Interesting. So are these two track soundboard mixes?

I'd be much more interested in tours that weren't already covered on Yessongs and Yesshows, I guess. Other than the 9012Live DVD and that Union Live release from the sloppiest show on the tour, the entire Rabin era is woefully underrepresented, as is the Relayer/solo albums tour and Drama. Then again, I'm probably in the minority of people who like both eras.

Yep. I'd like to cherry-pick a show or 2 from these probably, but I wouldn't be willing to pay the price listed on Amazon for that much repetitive material.

I like both eras myself. Gun to my head its the 70s incarnation by a mile. But I'm a second generation Yes fan who remembers the 80s Yes being popular so I'm partial to that period I guess. A full set of Bruford only shows would be awesome but I think this forthcoming set has Bruford & White shows.

A good chunk of the 79 live material already has been officially released on The Word Is Live. I personally wouldn't mind 1 complete performance from that year. MSG June 1979 maybe. A complete Tales show would be phenomenal only if they were recorded well. I don't need Yessongs Part II.

Looks like they want to emulate the huge boxes from King Crimson. :)

I'm kind of leaning this way as well, now that I've had some time to think about it. Plan9 mentioned the King Crimson boxes, but Crimso thrived on lots of improvisation. Yes - from what I saw and heard with my own ears and eyes in that era, and from what's been released previously - seems to have stuck pretty close to familiar structures.

yes i hope too !! apparently it's labelled as atlantic material on amazon, so maybe we have a chance it is well mastered… if the source is good enough.

  21. That's the real question. What are the sources? If they are soundboard then they will likely sound worse than Yessongs and be of no interest to me.

A simple 2CD with one show or highlights with Bruford would be enough for me. Perhaps another 2CD with White for the rest of you. :)

I'm looking forward to the Alan White concerts even more. From hearing Yessongs, the band were more forceful (charged with energy) with Alan. But I'm in luck, I'll get it all.

    Good price for 14 discs

Hope they release other sets like this from the 70s. Do they have tapes from the Drama tour?
