Yep. Richard Harris' interesting vocals to music written by Jimmy Webb. It's all sort of dramatic like that, violins and guitar going on kinda thing. It's music like this that you either love or hate.

It's been nearly 40 years but when I was in college my roommate bought Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here on 8-track. Our weekend ritual was to pop it in the player after classes on Friday afternoons and not take it out until we left for class on Monday mornings. It played round the clock, all weekend long, every weekend at a barely audible level.

If you like Nneka, you should also check out Selah Sue, a Belgium singer. Great debut album (self titled) released 2 or 3 years ago. Try to listen to the 2CD version. I had it on repeat for quite a while. After I discovered "she sounded like Nneka", I also bought Nneka's Soul Is Heavy. Great songs too, but rather compressed sound quality.

I've never actually listened to an album on repeat, but the closest I've come was listening to Chinese Democracy by Guns n Roses A LOT the first week it came out.

Neil Young, Le Noise. Now it's Zappa, Zoot Allures. Many albums I put in my car CD player stay there for awhile.

I have now moved sideways to the remixed version of the Temples album, it does interesting things to your head.

I have this thing where I refuse to listen to the same album more than a few times a year (absolute tops).

Buy with that being said, lately I have a total bug for Miles Davis electric period. What a great musical universe to explore mmm

The Real Kids - No Place Fast has been playing in my car most of this week. Great driving music, especially with the weather warming up.
