Love them all, but Steppenwolf 1 takes it because I LOVE The Pusher.

Very tough as they have several great ones" I grew up with the first & Second so Birthday Party and 7 became more engaging for me. Right now a toss up between Birthday Party and 7....

It's hard to imagine the second half of that list getting any votes.
For me, it's probably the debut, followed closely by "The Second" & "7".

The first 2 for sure, but there is great stuff throughout their run.

Yeah, I noticed that was not listed in the choices. Got a nice white label vinyl promo of that one.

When I think of Nov. '67 to Nov. '68, I am amazed how rock and roll IMO went into passing gear. I think of Jimi Hendrix Experiences first three lp's, Cream's Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears, Wheels Of Fire. Then there are Deep Purple's Shades Of Deep Purple and Book Of Talisyn. And with me Steppenwolf's first two lp's are included in with that group.

Underrated cuts from those first two lp's>>>>> (She's) 28 (Years Old Tonight), Desperation, Don't Step On The Grass Sam, Your Walls Too High (flip side to Born To be Wild-45), and more. Saw the band in Boulder in 1970 promoting Monster. Whew, what a show!

And saw them again in 1974 when they were touring on Slow Flux. Mums promoted "Straight Shooting Woman" (cool picture sleeve) but IMO the best cut on that lp is "Get Into The Wind." Great intro on that song and that song is in my top 5!

I noticed live lp's aren't in here (understandable) but heh "Live At 25" is in the Jeep! Gonna hear it later today!

Saw them 3 times in 3 decades. A great, great band.

Cool. Wish I had the opportunity to see them live. - '67 - '74 what a great stretch of music.

I wore out a few copies of The Second as a kid, for me that's always been my favorite, I like the way each side of the LP flows.

I went with 7 because it's a really great record and of course I've heard Born to be Wild and the Pusher like a million times. Having said that... The AP SACD of the first album is a revelation and it comes in a very close second.

Should have been on the list as it included some new studio cuts including Hey Lawdy Mama.

The new HDtracks hi-res versions are awesome. Monster and 7 in particular are astonishingly good.

Any of guys notice that one entire channel (Left IIR) is clearly live (from a Santa Monica Civic date, IIR), but the other channel is clearly studio overdubs (mostly lead guitar and vocals, IIR)? I can't listen to that record. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

7 got my vote. Great flow and listenability from start to end. I think their strongest release.
