  3. Quite a double blow for the Star Trek family in less than a week...first, Leonard Nimoy and now Harve Bennett...he rightfully earned credit for saving the franchise by producing the 2nd through 5th films in 1982 to '89...RIP...

RIP. I enjoyed his commentaries on the Six Million Dollar Man Box Set. Not too many people know that he voiced the first line of the famous opening credits sequence. ("Steve Austin, Astronaut. A man barely alive.")

  6. Wow. RIP Harve.

I'll have to let my two boys know. We've been enjoying the 6M-Dollar Man the last few months.

  11. Roddenberry never gave Harve the credit he deserved for saving Star Trek from the grave. While ST:TMP did well it was critically savaged. Bennett got the show going again by selecting Nick Meyer to direct (and rewrite along with Harve)

A talented writer/producer who will be missed.

Agree 100%. After ST:TMP, Paramount threw Star Trek it to their TV Production arm, having lost confidence that Star Trek could ever "prosper" in the motion picture medium.

Harve Bennett and Nick Meyer proved them wrong and then some...

    RIP Harve Bennett

Apparently, he died two days before Nimoy. RIP
