An opinion I share. Hub is a beast and the supporting lineup are pros in their roles.

Great playing. Crappy sound. Only known recording (or I think even performance) of "Who Can I Turn To?"

First time I played this fantastic album I thought something was wrong with my hearing, no joke. The stunning amount of reverb tripped me up I thought either my ears or stereo was broken. Easily one of my favorites. Gene plays with such heart and feeling. I like it even more for the reverb drench from RVG.

Miroslav Vitous Group - Remembering Weather Report

    Miroslav Vitous double-bass
    Franco Ambrosetti trumpet
    Gary Campbell tenor saxophone
    Gerald Cleaver drums
    Michel Portal bass clarinet

Although I love Universal Syncopations, I had no intention of getting Remembering Weather Report because I thought it was one of those "typical" ECM sounding album. This evening I saw that there was a 50% discount on this CD (brand new), so I bought it right away. Listened to it after dinner, I was so glad that I bought it.

Here's one you might not have heard, from a great Pittsburgh based singer named Lisa Hindmarsh. If you like jazz vocals, and some of the lesser known gems from the GASB, this is well worth your time. Samples at amazon here and at CD Baby here.

I will have to check this one out this weekend, as it just arrived...
I enjoy this album quite a bit-miroslav is a master on that bass-it almost sounds like there are two players at times...
