It's my least favorite Beatles album... no need to choose sides.

We folks over here do drive on the left, after all !

I have to buck the trend here by going for side 1 - brilliant start with Come Together and Something, and I love the humour of Octopus'Garden and Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Displays the collective and individual talents of all the Fab Four. Sublime and the ridiculous...

I think it's fair to say the medley's positive effect is more about production than the songwriting, and at least for this album the song most covered, something of a measure of success, is on the first side, that of course being Something.

I used to really love this album, but it's not imho held up as well as most of their stuff.

    I went with A.

Side A has two classics. Come together and something

Side B only has Here comes the sun.

It's side 2 by a hair only because of the structure. Looking at the songs only it may be pretty even with side 1. Side 1 might be even better in that regard.

Side 2, side 1 is one of their weakest sides.

I think the entire album is brilliant - even Maxwell and Octopus - and has the best song sequencing of all of the Beatles albums - and I'm talking about both sides now. But side 2 was revolutionary in 1969 and is still amazing today.

The in-side. Both sides finish quite strongly.

You have the right to you own opinion, but not the right to your own facts. This record is awesome and there is no doubt about that.

  18. If I have the right to my own opinion, then maybe you could try respecting that and just state your own without disparaging mine in the process...

    I like
    Side A
    Side B
    The isolated vocal track
    The isolated guitar track
    The isolated drum track
    The isolated bass track

Baffled by those who like the band but devalue this record----absolutely baffled.

Side 2 is a case of the sum being better than the parts. "Here Comes The Sun" is the only great individual song, but the others all become better because of how they are put together with the other songs.
Side 1 has three very good songs in "Something", "Come Together", and "Octopus Garden". The others are OK, but the whole is no greater than the parts.

I went with side 2, but when the lp came out it took us almost 6 months just to turn it around to side 2. We played side 1 over and over and over...
That being said, don't you think I Want You (She's So Heavy) would be a perfect concert closer if they had ever got back on stage?
