    I pulled this out this am inspired by this poll/thread. Really enjoyed the "Jet Age Sound"...or more accurately, the folk-rock hybrid with the dark overtones as someone posted earlier.

    If you don't mind my asking, how old were you during that era? Were you in the city, or in one of the suburbs?

    There were some great music happening down the peninsula and in the East Bay too, independent of the Fillmore/Avalon circuit, ie: Big Al's Gas House in San Mateo and the Rollarena in San Leandro.
