I don't know about the music, but I sometimes watch the reruns. Funny show, at times.

NEVER apologize for liking something. I really don't care if people don't think I'm cool because I like certain music. I don't have to justify it to anyone.

There were a couple of songs used in the show that never appeared on LP/CD releases. I should seek out the songs and do digital drops. I'm a fan of their better material. Iove the first three albums -- Sound Magazine being their finest!

Can't say Ricky did that much for me, even when I was his age

Doesn't your heart just melt when little Ricky walks in at 2:38?

Not certain whether it was the first, but 'My Three Sons', about a widower raising his three sons alone [eventually remarries] debuted September 1960 - predating both 'The Partridge Family ' and 'The Brady Bunch'.

IIRC, 'Make Room For Daddy' [aka 'The Danny Thomas Show'] had Danny Thomas a widower for about a season sometime in the late 1950s - not certain that counts as it was a weird way to explain to the audience the absence of the the leading lady who played Thomas' wife. Suddenly they just pretended matter-of-factly the character was dead and his character remarried a season or two later.

P.S. Just came across this website. Looks like 'My Little Margie' [1952] was the first single parent tv show. (Long before my time; I've never seen it.)

There were several shows in the 1960s such as "Bachelor Father" and "Family Affair" that had both parents killed off and relatives (bachelor men) raising the kids

"The Lucy Show" had Lucille Ball as a widowed mother and housemate Vivian Vance as a divorced mother.

I love the verses of "Something's Wrong" but the chorus leaves me cold.

Very well-crafted songs throughout the series, but SW is not among my favorites.

Thanks for all the info on the older single parent TV shows. I clearly was not thinking right.
