No april fools joke though he speculates it will be taken as such. The source is his Facebook profile.

Actually there is, but that is not the thread. This seems to be about the star club recordings.

I just took it as a record release announcement when i first read it.

 

Star Club. Cavern Club. It's all the same. Just another rock-n-roll dive. Nothing good ever came out of either of those places....

 

The thing that made me wonder was Bills wording that people was likely to think that the announcement was an april fools joke. And the sale of the star club tapes has already been announced so what announcement is Bill talking about?Add to that the announcent should be so unlikely that people will think it's a joke. Noone has taken the auction of these tapes as a joke.

 

But there is no limit to the amount of Beatles threads that Kim can open...

I thought it was Some Other Guy, but here is what Bill Harry actually said on his facebook:

The new information about the early Beatles on record will be revealed by Johnnie on April 1. It is genuine, but I think the date of the announcement will cause problems. I'll also be reporting on some later Beatles recordings with information that has not really been genuinely known or reported on before - this will take place on my forthcoming blog.

Early Beatles on record, revealed by Johnnie on April 1. - so maybe it isn't Some Other Guy unless the Examiner beat him to the punch before April 1? Star Club tapes are supposed to go on auction on April 1, so is that it? But we have that info, what would the new info be? And who is Johnnie?

 

When was the Let It Be LP released? Early April wasn't it? Hmm....

 

The "Some Other Guy" tape announcement on the Examiner came via Johnny Hamp, I believe. I'm assuming that was the news Bill Harry was referring to. But if there are more treasures being unearthed, bring them on
