Seems like this may be the winner if you want to buy the 2LP. I will get the zipper version if it sounds great.

I think so too - fortunately I have an EX UK 1st press with a fully working zipper so the different sleeve is actually a real bonus for me :)

Is there a source that confirms that the album itself will be the 2009 remaster, or is that just an inference people are making from the Amazon listing?

I'm assuming there isn't room for it :(

I don't see the rush, you can still find new copies of the Exile box and the regular set.
If those brave enough to get these straight away are finding that the vinyl is amazing and more than great sounding, then I will get a copy, but that Exile pressing was just so lame that any skepticism towards this is more than justified.

How many copies of the limited edition items do they typically press for something like the Spanish cover?

Oh man - I didn't realize it's confirmed. Maybe I'll just do the Spanish limited edition so I at least have a collectible in that sense. Even if the listening is not great it can kill 2 birds with 1 stone - listening to the mix on vinyl but getting the limited pressing.

I've got no problem with the content of this, I really want the Super Deluxe Edition, but I can't understand $150.00 for three CDs (one that everyone already has) and a two song DVD. The book must be really something.

Just under $100 on Amazon UK. That's $50 less agony for you to contend with, brother! :nyah:

Amazon usually drops the price of new releases when it gets closer to the release date. I don't feel the prices we see now will be this high seven weeks from now.

According to your profile, you weren't even born yet. Hell, your parents probably hadn't even started dating back then.

You have no dog in this hunt.

Spanish cover version is cheaper than standard version on vinyl. Must be based on cover construction: no zipper, no die-cutting.

I find it hard to believe that they couldn't come up with the standard ten studio outtakes/alternate takes. But since they're only giving us five, the least they could have done was to move the studio tracks to disc 1 and give us the complete Roundhouse concert on disc 2.

Hey, I hear ya. I know he couldn't break through the J/R hegemony during his tenure with the band. I thought they could make up for that by including some of the outtakes that he'd written or co-written on this upcoming box. I have heard Leather Jacket, Potted Shrimp, Traveling Man, et al via unofficial sources and, sure, nothing that would have supplanted the existing tracks that did make it on SF. But interesting just the same. If you're going to do a super deluxe, with the corresponding price tag, why not throw everything on there? If not now, when? If ever?

How different is it from the one on the album?

Presumably not available anywhere else on CD?

I hear Derek on that slide re: Brown Sugar.
( and it wasn't all Duane on slide for the Layla sessions)
