    Ridiculous.
    Absolutely ludicrous.

I actually saw Miss Ross in concert last year and she was firing on all cylinders and sounded just as good as in her heyday. She sang ridiculously well all night long. I almost couldn't believe it -- she was that good.

Given that on a music forum you actually refer to her as Miss Ross you are highly unlikely to be in the least bit objective are you?
I mean it is funny in sad fan kind of way , but really....

Arrested at Heathrow Airport for assaulting a member of security staff. Very classy!

I wish I could correct "their". It drives me crazy when I do that.

Still waiting for someone to show us an instance of Beyoncé using Autotune. I think we can accurately surmise that one won't be forthcoming. She simply doesn't use it. I'm sure it would be naturally used were she not in control as a co-producer on everything she does.

It would be more like Beyonce is the Diana Ross of today.

As the risk of sounding rude, I suggest you read what about what auto-tune does to the voice, then you will know what to listen for.

No, she didn't dance and the Supremes were much bigger than Destiny's Child.

True. I should have added "trying" to my statement.

That video, as bad as the sound is, sounds like it was doctored to make her sound bad.

Assuming all pop/rock stars are saints and muckraking is even more classy.

She's using it here as a gimmick. That's clearly not what I meant. I'm not talking about gimmickry; I'm talking using it on a straight vocal. Any examples of that?

That's so obviously doctored. LOL! It's incredibly funny. No one could really hear that and take it seriously.

I don't assume all pop/rock stars are saints, I just dispute that Diana Ross has 'way too much class'.
I don't find anything classy about getting arrested, either for assaulting airport staff who were just doing their job or driving so drunk that your car is swerving around the road an you can hardly walk. Why, do you find that classy?

If Beyonce had been a pop star in the 1960s, I think she would have been a lot of like Diana (Motown would have been the perfect environment for her), and it's easy to see her career following Diana's path: Supremes/Destiny's Child, solo stardom, movies, disco/EDM, ballads, and becoming a sort of 'goddess'/diva superstar.
I also think if Diana had come up in the mid 90s, her career would parallel Beyonce's. Diana was ambitious, motivated, a careerist, disciplined (that is, not a free spirit like Florence Ballard or Rihanna), like Beyonce has been. Both wanted to be 'goddesses' and each did it by following the path that you had to in the period and culture they came up in (and with the level of talent they had re: looks and voice).
So is that like saying Diana was the Beyonce of her day? If so, then yes.
