Anyone in Brooklyn, the Halcyon store in Dumbo had stock (at least 5 copies each) on the following as of an hour ago:
    Happy Mondays
    Springsteen
    Stooges
    Doors

They had one copy of the Ork box, looked to be 2 of the Goldfrapp.

    FYI and all that.

"I Gotta Move" is superb on this reissue and the reason I grabbed it..

The standard weight is the one I got and sounds sublime. I can't see paying more for 180 gram or 200 gram when it makes no sound difference. Some of the best sounding albums are flimsy thin.
Any opinions on thicker ***vinyl*** improving sound?

I went ahead and went out to our least popular store in town a few hours after they opened and managed to get a copy. Sounds great especially after listening to the crazy stereo panning on my other copy. And you have a nice surprise waiting for you if you haven't cracked it open yet. It's a purdy disc :targettiphat:

Where's that at? Any link to where it's going to be?

I picked up Jethro Tull - Live At Carnegie Hall 1970 and The Gods - Genesis. I was also carrying the Bad Channels soundtrack in my bundle, but then I had second thoughts and put it back in the rack.

I got the live Bedhead album at the same place which I was thrilled about. Not familiar with much else by Numero Group but looks like an interesting catalog.

    Joan Jett - Flashback
    Replacements EP
    Jesse Malin EP
    D Generation 10" single

He does a sale on that day, but he carries none of the RSD exclusive releases. That is what I mean by participate. Don't get me wrong, I've unloaded my wallet at Jerry's on many occasions, but he is NOT the barometer of interest in RSD.

Managed to pick up two of the three things I was looking for, main wants going in were the Leatherface box set and OFF! 10" LP, they didn't get the last item in stock at all unfortunately (the Pere Ubu box set).

    My haul today consisted of:

    - Leatherface: Razor Blades and Aspirin box set
    - Marc Moulin: Placebo Years 1971-1974 LP
    - OFF!: Live from the BBC 10" LP
    - The Soft Machine: Wonderland LP
    - Brian Eno: Here Come the Warm Jets LP (Non-RSD related pickup but a fantastic album I've been meaning to pick up on vinyl for a while)

  11. Agree 180 and beyond is useless. If the mastering is good.... Bring back Dynaflex

I picked up Ride, Neko Case, and the signed Dylan.

The Dylan is nice. Bright/saturated opaque pink vinyl, a few shades darker than the paperwork. Pressed at Sterling. #814 of 1000. Garth Hudson has a really beautiful signature.

The Neko Case is on heavy bright red opaque vinyl. Can't make out the etching. The slipmat is "cute."

Best of Ride is trunslucent red vinyl. Nice heavy card stock artwork.

Wanted to Trojan comp but didn't come across it. Passed on the Sitar and Manics LPs.

To anyone in the Portland area, 2nd Ave Records downtown has the best prices/selection. Only thing I missed there was the Sly & Family Stone, which I found at Everyday Music. Picked up Guided By Voices reissues, Doors Strange Days, Robin Hitchcock single.

  14. No luck on the Bedhead LP for me, but I did manage to snag the Ork box. That thing is crazy expensive for what you get, but the store I was at had across the board 15% discounts on all stock today so I took a deep breath and handed over my credit card. I'll never get a down payment together for my dream home with this kind of behaviour, but oh well.

Picked up Strange Days, the standard weight Basement Tape, and Amanaz' Africa. Would love to get Numero's Lows in the Mid-Sixties, but I didn't see a copy.

I didn't see it either. I still have one from a few years ago and it doesn't seem so long since I've seen it in stores. Is it hard to find?

Really? Younger people are also known as hipsters? I had no idea. I thought we were all music fans.

Is it a "MASTERDISK"? If so, SH=Scott Hull. He did the Dolly Parton Grass is Blue and it sounds really good.

I'm on the lookout for Amanaz tomorrow for sure. I have the FLAC through my drip.fm subscription to Now-Again Records, and it's awesome.

They had five or six copies at my local just past noon. I grabbed the lowest numbered copy 119/4000.

I'm only familiar with the "reverb mix", can't wait to hear the dry mix! Very cool of Now Again to provide both.
