Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

A mate in Canada picked me up the Kate Pierson and Robyn Hitchcock releases. I got him the Alex Harvey and Rival Sons offerings. Hooray for international trade agreements! Short-sighted RSD execs, you'll not beat us!

I had tot bring my daughter tot a game, a 2 hour drive from home......so I thought ...
    No RSD for me.

So I googled of there was a store somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
As luck would have it..there was one.
About 7 people where in front of me and the store gave me number 8.

Got U2,Placebo, Frank Sinatra....( I had to hold myself back ;-) )

Litlle store in Hoogezand ( Netherlands) Thank you

I haven't opened it yet - still debating. I have the 12" that was released last year with 4 additional mixes. Like all but one.

How does the White Stripes pressing sound? how's the quality given it was pressed at United (most likely).

I'm was watching them roll them out as well, but after waiting for 45 minutes and finally seeing one item I "wanted" get posted, I realized that I was just caught up in the excitement of the day. They really do a great job of generating all the hype and hoopla that surrounds this whole thing... and I'm sure keeping up with this thread is part of it too. Then the whole limited edition "I'm going to miss out if I don't get it", thing creeps in and you convince yourself that you have to have that item! In the end and thought about it and realized I don't play 90% of the records I have now and decided to pass.

The new 2014 is miles better. It's a very close approximation to my original WLP copy from 1955. You an purchase it with confidence.

Local guy posted quanities received(personally,as a former shopkeeper, this is nobody's business, but I digress) and he got 92 copies. Now I wasn't looking for it and anyway, this is the kind of place that you have to go to the counter to ask for specific titles(another bad practice). The item I was looking for, Elvis,(for a friend I met at an earlier RSD store line)was there seven+ hours after opening and they got 20 copies of that one ,so it is possible they still had a copy.

I had never heard Tokumaru's music before, but as I was waiting in line, Night Piece was staring at me on the shelf. Since the line was taking time, I decided to listen to tracks from that album on my phone. Loved what I heard, so I threw it on the pile! Now to find a copy of LST somewhere!

Can someone tell me if the Blitzen Trapper "Live Harvest" is played on all acoustic or do they also use electric guitars? Thanks.

I picked up the following RSD items yesterday:

Tomorrow- mono lp reissue (superb! I posted a detailed review in another thread) $17.97

Jeff Beck - 3 Epic singles - WOW, these all sound great! I have original UK Columbia copies and these reissues are every bit as good. Highly recommended! $8.97 ea

Small Faces - Afterglow/Up the Wooden Hills $12.97(!) . AVOID THIS RIPOFF!! The sleeve indicates the A-side is supposed to be a previously unreleased mix. It isn't. It's the common mono single mix. The B-Side is also supposed to be stereo but plays mono. Total waste of money here.

This album is da bomb lol! Picked it up yesterday having never heard of it. I was taken with the old style flipback sleeve and the song selection. It's a really fun listen! Beatles songs, A Rolling Stones song and even a cover of Daydream Believer all done in a rock style with prominent sitar - LOVE IT!!! Plus it's on green vinyl which looks great. If you're a Beatles or fan of mid to late '60s music you'd probably love it!
