My RP1 that I purchased about 3 years is starting to have speed issues.

It's not running too slow or too fast all the time....every once in a while the speed "wobbles" and then corrects itself.

Do I need a new white belt or stylus?

Belt, very likely. You have options, as well. Blue or white, or stock. Search around if you are interested.

Heat a cup or bowl of water to a very warm temp, but not boiling, and then drop the belt in there for a few quick minutes. Towel it dry and put it back on the table. If that doesn't solve it as it likely will, then it is possible that the motor pulley has come a bit loose from the motor shaft.

Is the pulley supposed to be attached in any way to the motor spindle? I am able to lift the pulley straight up with no resistance at all (like it isn't attached to the spindle).

Are you supposed to be able to lift it up and re-seat it with no resistance?

No. It should be firmly attached to the motor spindle.

How do I attach it? Or is there an upgraded pulley available that attaches more securely?

Metal pulleys with set screws are available but you may simply use epoxy to rejoin the pulley to the shaft.

This is a fairly common issue on the Rega's. A couple of drops of a good quality glue will solve your problem.

A fairly simple issue to remedy; just ensure a) that you don't get glue on the pulley track or anywhere else that it shouldn't be, and b) to get the pulley at the correct height on the spindle so that everything is lined-up correctly, otherwise you may create new problems!

Has anyone purchased a metal pulley from Michael Lim (lpturntables.blogspot.com)?

If I bought my RP1 in the US is it 50Hz or 60Hz?

After some searching it looks like the US model is 60Hz.

I went ahead and purchased a stainless steel pulley from Michael Lim.

    Just an update -

I received and installed Michael Lim's 33/45 metal pulley (tightened it down with the set-screw/allen key).

My speed issue is solved. Thumbs up to Michael Lim.
