Advice needed on getting a new portable mp3 player?

Hi all, I've got a 16gb iPod but its really been a pain in the butt the last 6 months not being able to get all the music I want on it in one go without worrying about missing what I find essential and so on.

Anyway, I'm not sure what the best route to go is, I really need about 32gb of space. Any more and it might cause me to go a bit crazy and try and fill the rest of it up and I've spent enough time already getting the music I need rather than the music I wouldn't mind having, the essential stuff is what I mean as opposed to falling into the trap of spending more hours on stuff I don't feel I need, at least not at this point in my life.

So I'm not sure what to do, do I spend £100 on another 16gb iPod or is there any other alternative to the iPod or a better apple product if there is one that suits my needs.
